Why a Meditation Retreat? 
The word 'Retreat' means a place to go to be alone, to get away from it all. Not only getting away from the stresses, responsibilities and mad rush of daily life, but also giving your mind a chance to quiet down from its daily routine. 
Meditation Retreats are designed to leave behind all our usual distractions to allow relaxation and positive inner change to occur and develop a stronger connection to YOU. 
With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be difficult to allocate time for ourselves, which is vitally important for our overall well-being. 
Planning a vacation can be hard work, a very good reason to go on a Retreat is to give yourself an opportunity to truly relax, tucked away with like-minded people in the beautiful stillness of nature. 
Along with guided meditations this retreat also includes time for mindful nature walks, gentle movement classes and nutritious meals; all combining towards a positive change and to simply feel better and re-energise.

Attention of your surroundings, your body, your thoughts and to truly reconnect with yourself and restore your reserves. 
On our Retreats you can really escape and have nothing to do but concentrate with space for Self Care, giving you the opportunity to gain a wider perpective, mental momentum, mind and body transformation with increased awareness... it is impossible to create change if you are not aware.

Mindfulness is a powerful element to transitioning through the Menopause. We are delighted to join with Andrea from Cotswold Menopause to bring an informative and enlightening talk in this Retreat. With her unique perpective on Menopause through the eyes of the theory of chinese medicine she can explain why you get symptoms, when you will get them, and most importantly what to do to relieve them.

Mindfulness & Menopause Retreat - 1st to 3rd May (see details below) 
Cotswold Meditation and Mindfulness is pleased to now offer Countryside Retreats at selected times of the year, hosted at Middletown Farm Cottages, which is owned by Dordie and Graham. 
Countryside retreats run from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. 
Middletown Farm is situated in a tranquil little corner of England where you can hear the birds singing and see the stars at night. It is in the middle of The Cotswolds, The Malvern Hills, the Forest of Dean and The Wye Valley. Nearby towns are Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ledbury, Tewkesbury, Ross on Wye, Malvern and Newent. Hartpury Agricultural College and Equestrian Centre are just three miles away. 
Middletown is a chemical-free working farm, where geese and Jacob's sheep are ethically bred and raised, apple juice is produced and there is a farm shop selling a selection of local produce and artisan gifts. 
Rooms in the main House 
There are three double rooms in the main house. One room has an ensuite bathroom and the other two share a bathroom. 
The rooms either in one of the cottages or the main house are £100 per room per night (single occupancy). You can share a room, which will cost you therefore £50 for the night each. 
There are two Cottages on the farm just a short distance from the main farmhouse.  
The gardens are very pretty and have a fishpond with a small fountain and waterfall. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the gardens and meet the lovely friendly animals in the paddocks. 
Interaction with guests 
The owners are usually on site and are happy to give help that is required at any time 
Other things to note 
There are many lovely and interesting places to visit, gorgeous walks with spectacular views of the scenery and local pubs with good food and roaring log fires to enjoy. 
Treat yourself to a relaxing and re-energising break in the enchanting Forest of Dean area. You may even recognise places that have been used for filming; for example, Harry Potter, Merlin, Dr Who, The Huntsman and Star Wars The Force Awakens. 
All food during the Countryside Retreat is fresh, organic and locally produced. 
Dordie even makes her own apple juice, from fresh local orchard apples! 🍏 
Vegetarian options will be available and please let Dordie know whether you have any other dietary requirements (e.g.- gluten free, lactose free, vegan). 
Fresh water (Middletown Cottages uses a very effective filter system for fresh water), a variety of teas, coffees and biscuits will be available for you to help yourself at all times during our Retreat.
