In addition to meditation and mindfulness, I also offer Reiki treatments
What is Reiki?
REI = Universal/Spiritual
KI = Life Force/Energy
Reiki is a therapy and a form of alternative medicine, formally developed in the early 20th century and used in the UK since the late 1900s. However, practitioners of Eastern Medicine have been using variations of Reiki for thousands of years.
It was originally developed by Japanese Buddhist Dr. Mikao Usui in the Usui System of Natural Healing.
Since originating in Japan, Reiki has been adapted into various cultural traditions all over the world.
Reiki functions on the body energy first, usually following the same channels used in acupuncture and acupressure, chi gong and other traditional Asian medical and healing modes.
The therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the body.
Reiki energy is used to help people
move and balance energy,
remove blockages, repair tears
in the aura, and help restore wellbeing.
Not only does it stimulate your body’s innate healing abilities and deal with physical ailments, it goes right down to the root of problems, whether physical, mental, or emotional, bringing them into balance and promoting health, happiness, prosperity and long life.
It also assists the body to function properly and is good for relaxation and natural healing, which many find very beneficial as millions of people around the world are suffering stress and stress-related diseases.
Reiki also starts a detox process in the body, helping to rid itself of the toxins we take in every day.
It can help to re-connect you with the power and peace within yourself.
It has been observed that a 1-hour Reiki session can be equivalent to 8 hours of deep and restful sleep!
How Does it Work?
Scientific research using quantum physics is starting to help us understand how Reiki works to benefit the individual.
In fact, it has been suggested that in years to come it may be known as ‘energy medicine’, based on scientifically-measurable energy increases across the body that it generates. When giving Reiki, electromagnetic energy can be measured. The frequencies of this energy appear to correspond to those that medical researchers have identified as being the optimum frequencies for stimulating the healing process in tissues, bones and other body parts so far investigated.
A phenomenon called amplification, in which a single hormone molecule of electromagnetic energy has been shown to trigger a cellular response, suggesting that living tissues are much more sensitive to external fields than previously considered possible.
